Troubleshooting

Performance issues

If you are experiencing low frame rates, then we suggest that you turn off the Refections and detail in the video options.
If you encounter any problems, please ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your card. These should be obtained from the card or chipset manufacturer.
If you increase the settings of your display options and experience decreased performance and have the latest drivers, we recommend setting your Display options back to their defaults

Card issues

Savage 3D
This card does not support 32 bit rendering and should not be selected, also resolutions over 1024x768 should not be used. The game will not run on Windows 2000 using this card due to poor driver support.

Voodoo Banshee
This card does not support 1600x1200 resolution and should not be selected.

Windows 95 and Matrox G400
Blank loading bars. You may find that this combination does not display the loading bars in any colour depth.

Anti Aliasing
We have noticed that certain video drivers do not behave correctly when anti-aliasing is switched on. If your video card shows any problems when running the game, please try switching on the 'Disable Anti Aliasing' option in the configuration dialog before contacting technical support.

Texel Alignment
We have noticed that certain video drivers do not behave correctly when drawing in game text and tiles to the screen. Enabling the 'Adjust Texel Alignment' setting in the configuration dialog may help cure these problems.

Triple Buffering

Switching on the 'Enable Triple Buffering' option in the configuration dialog may improve performance on some systems. However certain video drivers display problems when triple buffering is enabled.

Other issues

Windows 95 user may experience stuttering or Jerky FMV.

Swap file

We recommend that the user has at least 250mb free hard disk space after installation. While World Championship Snooker should perform fine with less than 250mb free, in order to gain maximum performance from this product a larger swap file will be beneficial. Close down any applications before running.

Direct X

If you try to run the game without DirectX8 installed, World Championship Snooker may not run correctly.
