Q: Why doesn't the AutoPlay feature come up when I insert the Gangsters 2 CD into the CD-ROM drive? A: This is usually a configuration issue. There are many different ways to enable the AutoPlay functions of Windows. The standard method is described below:
Enter the Control Panel from the desktop by clicking on the Start button, followed by Settings, and then Control Panel. Double-click the icon labelled System, usually located alphabetically towards the bottom of the Control Panel window, to bring up the System Properties panel. Click on the tab at the top labelled Device Manager and when the new panel appears, locate the section labelled CD-ROM and click the Plus (+) sign in front of it. (If there is a minus sign in front, don't click it.) Now double-click the CD-ROM drive revealed and the CD-ROM Properties panel will appear. Click on the Settings tab at the top. Towards the middle of the panel, you should see a few check boxes within the Options section. At the bottom of that section, you should see a check box labelled Auto insert notification. Make sure there is a check mark in the box provided and click on the OK button to complete the process. |

Gameplay Issues The following are gameplay notes that are not in the manual. The Business Specialist Multiplayer Gameplay Hiring Gangsters Equipping your Gangsters Known Video Issues: Sound Issues: Multiplayer Issues: Setting up Gangsters 2 for a firewall Gangsters 2 and ZoneAlarm: Gangsters 2 and GameSpy Driver Problems The vast majority of problems that you are likely to encounter are probably related to drivers that allow the game to make optimum use of your systems resources. In particular, video games are most influenced by Microsoft's DirectX drivers, which are responsible for various aspects of your system including: video, sound, controller input, 3D graphic functions, CD ROM access and other functions. If you do experience problems, always ensure that you are using the latest drivers for these devices, and that your DirectX installation shows these devices as being certified (with DXDIAG). CD ROM Problems Make sure that the CD ROM disk is in the correct drive, with the label facing upwards. The CD ROM disk must be in the drive to install or run the game. If you have two CD-ROM drives, the CD must be placed in the drive whose drive letter comes alphabetically first for the game to work. Ensure that the CD ROM disk is free from any markings or scratches which may interfere with normal operation. If the disk requires cleaning, gently wipe the surface with a dry, non-abrasive cloth. Sound Problems Make sure that your speakers or headphones are plugged into the correct socket, and that the volume control is at an appropriate level. If you are using powered speakers, ensure that the power is on. If you continue to experience problems, ensure that the Volume Control taskbar icon (depicted by a small yellow speaker) is present. Double-clicking this icon will open the Volume Control window. Make sure that the Wave and Master Volume controls are set at an appropriate level and that the Mute feature is not enabled. |
